If you're anything like me, then I know you'd be fed up with wasting your precious shearing time through either having to put up with substandard tools, fixing and repairing or just getting plain annoyed with them and with all the little time absorbing hassles that are part of the normal day-to-day routine of shearing and if that's you, then this could be the most important letter you'll ever read...

My name is Chris Taylor, most other shearer's call me 'Squizzy' or 'Squiz' which is fine. That's me in the website header at the top of the page, doing what I do best...

I won't go too much into my professional background, as you can read about that on my 'About Me' page. I've been shearing on and off for over 25 years now and during my time in the industry whether I was in sheds in NSW, Victoria or anywhere else for that matter, I always encountered many problematic and annoying little hassles while shearing from the start of my first run, right through to the end of my fourth.

For years, I along with my fellow shearer's put up with the frustrating petty little annoyances that would crop up during our day, robbing us of 'shearing time' and generally taking the edge of what would otherwise be a great day's shearing.

Then in 1988, I had finally 'had a gutful' and started to think of ways I could overcome these problems, the main annoyance of these being that every time I wanted to pull into gear or out of gear, I would be constantly looking around to my left or right, searching for the overhead gear rope and this of course as you know, gets bloody irritating after a while!

I made a decision that I would actively seek a solution to this and tried in vein to figure out a solution and the more I actively spent on trying to solve it, the less I was able to...but then about 30 days later one morning while I was in the shower, I an idea and it hit me like a bolt of lightning... just came streaming right into my brain, one of those aha! moments ;-)

I had discovered the missing ingredient to solving my problem and this idea produced my flagship product. Introducing...

 

This was back in 1988 and I used this back then for my own personal benefit, not as something I even thought about producing as a commercial product to sell to others...Why? Because I'm a professional shearer, NOT a professional marketer and that's the difference in why I created it in the first place. I invented the product to help me become more comfortable on the job, however though I had always had positive feedback about it, I still didn't recognise it as something I could duplicate to help others (I suffered from 'stinkin' thinkin' back then..lol)
